Blog Candy

I'm in a sharing mood tonight. I'm going to give some blog candy to the first person who makes a comment on this post and answers these 5 questions correctly. (hint, the answers to the questions can be found within this blog, on my CTMH website, or the Close To My Heart Summer 2008 Idea Book).

What is blog candy you ask? Blog candy is a little bag of goodies that you can use for card making or scrapbooking. It's a little bit of this and a little bit of that. It can include cardstock, papers, stamps, stamped images, and embellishments...just for starters. Play along and find out what's in this bag of goodies. Good Luck.

Questions:

1. What is the name of the owl from the 1970's Tootsie Pop commercial?

2. How many new people joined the Hostess Club during the month of may?

3. When is my open house and what can you do to earn 4 entries into the grand prize drawing? (hint: look under the "training and Events" Tab on my web site)

4. What is the name of the CTMH Stamp of the Month for May?

5. What is the name of the product on page 101 of the CTMH Summer 2008 catalog that is used to add dimension, sparkle, and shine to your projects?

Rabbit Fest

The boys, Bob, and I went to Rabbit Fest today. For those that are not from around here it is the yearly shindig festival in Copperas Cove. They have the usual carnival rides, arts and crafts booths, and sinfully good, but aweful for you food like corn dogs and funnel cakes.
They had a petting zoo area with the most stinkin' (no pun intended) cute pot bellied pig in it. He was definately enjoying all the attention and love.
I also realized that Dalton has outgrown riding the kiddy rides and has graduated to the "make you sick" rides! There were a few that he found out weren't on his favorites list!
We had a great day. It was nice to spend the day together just having fun.

Dalton giving the pig some love and attention

I think Dalton looks like the saddest cowboy in Texas!! He said afterwards that he didn't think he would make a very good cowboy because he had to have help getting into the saddle.

Dalton and Kyle ready to ride!

I don't think he is aspiring to be a pirate either!

Remember Mr. Owl???

Ok, So I'm going to give away my age here, but, do you remember Mr. Owl from the Tootsie Pop Commercial in the 1970's???? You know, the one where the kid asks Mr. Owl how many licks it takes to get to the center of the Tootsie Pop and Mr. Owl only ever made it to 3 licks before he couldn't resist just biting into it to get to the Tootsie Roll center.
If you haven't noticed...things from the 70's are making their way back around. Especially the owls.
I love this stamp set,'U R A HOOT (Owls & Graduation)' , by Kim Hughes from Cornish Heritage Farms.
This owl bears a very striking resemblance to Mr. Owl...and he definately looks like he belongs in the 70's!
I got this stamp set in the mail earlier in the week but, did not get time to play with it until last night.
I made a few cards and had a blast with this set. Enjoy!!

If ya can't beat em', join em'

Sometimes men can be ingenious! I guess I have been spending too much time in the Skrap Shack lately on my days off. Last night I was out there working on a military card swap that is due to be done by June 9th. Me, being the procrastinator, was trying to get ahead of the game for once. Bob comes out there and offers to help me finish them. This puts one in a slight bind because your husband has just offered to help you make cards (how many husbands do that!) but, yet...your hesitant to trust if he will do things right...this IS your reputation on the line!
I take a deep breath and decide to accept his help. (OK, so I didn't take a deep breath....instead I decided to HOLD my breath while I gave him instructions on what to do.)
Low and behold....he did a pretty darn good job! He stamped and adhesed (I don't think there is such a word, but It's my blog and I can make up any words I want to, besides, it's a much catchier word than glued.) and packaged.
After we were done, I asked him why in the world he offered to help me make cards. He said he figured it was the only way he was going to get to spend time with me for the evening.
If ya can't beat em' then join em'!
Of course I took a few pics of him at work and the finished product.

I should be ashamed of myself

I should be sooo ashamed of myself! I have put off ordering hardcopy prints of my digital photos for a while....apparently a loooong while......I ordered over 1300 prints from Winkflash the other day!!! No, that is not a typo.....I REALLY ordered that many pictures! I had not ordered any in almost a year. Of course, I have promised to myself that I'm never, ever, ever going to let it get that behind again!!
